How to Cook Tomato Rice

Salam all...

This has been one of those dishes that ive been trying to perfect of late. Now that i think it is almost there, *tee hee hee* I can gladly share them with you :)
It's relatively simple. Thank you so so much to Ms Tot at Totcupcakes.com for the recipe!

Fry the chicken, and prepare the ingredients for Ayam Masak Merah (serai, cili giling, bawang merah, tomato sos, halia, bawang besar)

Ingredients for Nasi Tomato (susu cair, tomato sos & diced tomato, bawang putih&bawang merah, ghee, halia, kulit kayu manis, buah pelaga, bunga lawang, cengkih)

Yeahh...the chicken is ready!

Tada... ! Ready to be served

Ok, that is all for today. Hope you'll give it a try. I know i'll be making this over & over again as it is hubby's current favorite. Oh, and the little princess' too!  :)

Zakka Fabric Bin / Fabric Bucket Tutorial

Hi all! Im falling more & more in love with everything Zakka!

**Zakka (from the Japanese 'zak-ka'(雑貨)or 'many things') is a fashion and design phenomenon that has spread from Japan throughout Asia. The term refers to everything and anything that improves your home, life and appearance**   ~Wikipedia

I've purchased this book from Amazon when we were in the US last year. However, this was the first time that i've attempted one of the projects. Very clear explanation & easy to follow instructions i must say. Suitable for sewing novices as well.

uuuuu so many cute projects!

All u need are: 2 circles (Shell & lining fabrics), 2 rectangles (Shell & lining fabrics), 2 tabs for the handles (Shell fabric) & respective interfacing.  Batting for the bottom & body.

The handle tabs
I quilted the lining fabric

Tada.... ! The dimension for this is 10" (diameter) x 12" (height)

Decided to create my own birthday wish tag :)

For those who are keen to try,  ive seen this 'Zakka Handmade' book at Times bookstore. Oh, and there also a lot of fabric basket tutorials out there. Check these out too:

Meanwhile, for those who are interested to purchase one, come visit me on my EtsyShop yah!

 Have fun! :)

Toddler Backpack Tutorial

Salam all...

I found this wonderful tutorial for Toddlers Backpack from The Ribbon Retreat Blog. Very nice of her to share this. I took this opportunity to make one for Sara's 3rd birthday.
**Oh, btw, she chose the fabric herself the last time we went fabric hunting**

Overall, Im very satisfied with the outcome. It's just that i think it could be a bit more smaller in size. Maybe i'll make some alterations another time. Plus i prefer if the straps start right at the top, where the small strap is.

I didn't have any strap adjusters, and didn't have time to buy one, since this is kinda last minute project haha. So i make do with some velcro to make the straps 'adjustable' some what.

Cut all the necessary pieces for the outer fabric & the lining fabric

Start assembling the main body of the outer fabric

Assemble the lining fabric, then match up the seams at the bottom with the outer fabric. Stitch them up.

Yeay!! The final outcome :)

The inside of the bag, complete with a front pocket.

The mini surprise for the birthday girl. Sara turns 3 !!

The 'happy customer' ! :)

Rombongan Cik Kiah to Spotlight

Salam all...

Weehoo..!! Had been planning to go to Spotlight since it was opened last 12 July 2014. But just couldn't make time for it.
The day finally arrived. Lucky there were few others who were as eager as i was! Made the trip even more fun. Hehe..

Spotlight is located on the 2nd floor of Ampang Point Shopping Centre. It is originated from Australia if im not mistaken, and this is their 1st ever outlet in Malaysia. I heard that they'll be opening another outlet in Ikano by year end. Yippeee!! Even nearer to where i stay :)

Ok, my verdict.... NOT BAD AT ALL!! A good collection of craft items & sewing notions i would say. As well as fabrics..arts stuff..home decor..& party items. It has got enough of everything. Well, this is based on my unbiased opinion since ive been to John Lewis haberdashery & Hobbycraft in the UK. As well as JoAnn in the US.

Before this, I always had to go to a few places to get my supplies, namely Bunga Reben in KL for sewing notions and Ikea & Jakel for fabrics. Phew.. Now with Spotlight, it acts as a one stop centre for me! I can get all my stuff there. The only minus point is, it is aaaalll the waaaay in Ampang. I hate the traffic there. **Go on weekdays morning guys! That's the best time. If u can afford it. Hehe**

I ended up getting some fabrics, batting & zippers. Enough for this 1st trip. Will definitely be back soon!!
